Prime Minister Jean Castex went on Saturday afternoon to the Nantes cathedral, hit in the morning by a fire. A move in line with his method adopted for two weeks now: display as close to the field.

Jean Castex's entourage is formal: the Prime Minister's place on Saturday was in Nantes. "It must be where there is emotion," said one to Matignon. As soon as the fire at Saint-Pierre and Saint-Paul cathedral was announced on Saturday morning, the Prime Minister therefore changed his agenda to get to the forecourt as quickly as possible.

"The abandonment of the territories is one of the reasons for the movement of yellow vests"

He supported the firefighters who fought the flames, the shocked Nantes residents, the Catholics, the heritage lovers. To the whole country in reality, because Jean Castex has been setting up a method for two weeks now: display himself as close to the field and listen to the actors. Since his appointment, Matignon has wanted to impose the image of a Prime Minister who is close to the people, accessible, available.

Within the executive, some see it as a way to recreate unity in the country. "The abandonment of territories in favor of Parisianism, this is one of the reasons for the movement of yellow vests", theorizes an adviser, before adding: "We cannot reform if we do not restore confidence between politicians and the French. " Speaking of reconstruction, Jean Castex perhaps evoked the Nantes cathedral as much as the link between the government and the French.
