Businessinsider quoted Israeli and other European sources as saying that Tel Aviv carried out bombings and arson attacks in Iran in the last period, with the aim of pushing towards a confrontation with Tehran, before the US presidential elections in November.

The American website reported - quoting a former Israeli military official - that some of the recent attacks in Iran were carried out by Israeli intelligence, as well as a statement by a European intelligence official, who is still at work, in which he said that Israel planned to provoke military action with Iran, as long as President Donald remained Trump at the White House.

Last Wednesday, a fire broke out in the Bushehr port in western Iran, and before that, an explosion occurred at the Natanz nuclear facility to enrich uranium on the second of this month, and a bombing occurred at the Khojir missile complex on June 22 last year.

The Natanz facility The American New York Times quoted a Middle East official earlier this month that Israeli intelligence was responsible for the bombing of the Iranian nuclear facility, and Israeli Foreign Minister Gabi Ashkenazi told a news conference on the fifth of this month that the measures taken by Tel Aviv Against Tehran, "it will be the best if we don't talk about it."

On the other hand, Iranian officials stated that the fires and explosions that the country recorded in the last period are normal accidents in most cases, but some foreign terrorists are behind them.

The former Israeli military official came back to tell Business Insider that Israeli intelligence was responsible for some of the incidents that occurred in Iran last month.

Maximum pressure
On the other hand, a European intelligence official stated that the recent attacks in Iran are part of an Israeli campaign to exert maximum pressure on Tehran, but it is not part of a clearly defined strategy, he said.

The same spokesman added that he fears that Israel's plan is to push Iran to retaliate that could turn into a military escalation during the remainder of Trump's term.

The Business Insider website indicated that Israel will not be able to put pressure on Iran if Democratic candidate Joe Biden wins the next presidential election.

In light of the prevailing belief among Washington-allied countries that Trump will not win the presidential elections, it appears that the Israeli shift in pressure reflects this belief, especially since a Biden-led government may reconsider the decision to withdraw from the 2015 Iranian nuclear deal.
