Traffic departments in the state violated 25,178 drivers last year, due to the invalidity of the vehicle's tires while driving, compared to 33,859 drivers in 2018, a decline of about 34.5%, according to the statistics of the Ministry of Interior.
The Ministry of Interior has tightened the penalty for vehicle tires not valid, as part of the amendments to the executive regulations of the Federal Traffic and Traffic Law, which began to be applied in 2017, as it raised its fine from 200 dirhams to 500 dirhams, registering four traffic points, in addition to reserving the vehicle for seven days.
At the level of the Abu Dhabi emirate, the traffic accidents that occurred due to the tire explosion, during the past summer period, resulted in the death of three people and the injury of two others with moderate injuries, and the number of vehicles that were violated because the tires were not fit to drive reached 6211 violations.
Abu Dhabi Police has identified 10 reasons that lead to the explosion of tires, especially during the summer, namely: the use of damaged or expired tires, a rise in temperature, driving at an excessive speed, the use of a tire that does not meet the technical specifications, dryness and cracking of the tire due to its storage in an improper manner, and «brushing », Filling the tire with air with less or more durability, and collision of the tire in the case of walking with a sharp solid object, such as the sidewalk or some waste and solid objects falling from trucks or the like, and the overload, and frequent use by cutting long distances.
As part of the "Safe Traffic Summer" campaign, Abu Dhabi Police called for the necessity of taking preventive measures for vehicles and trucks by examining the tires, ensuring their safety, replacing them in the event of their expiry date, or any cracks or bulging, and making sure to use good and conforming items to avoid traffic accidents That is due to its explosion.
Truck drivers called for the need to avoid violations that cause severe traffic accidents, such as overload, and not to cross between lanes, stressing the importance of adhering to traffic laws and regulations, thus enhancing road safety.

Abu Dhabi Police confirmed that there is necessary information that drivers should be familiar with before purchasing the tires of their vehicles, including the date of tire manufacture, the shelf life of the tire after its installation, and the condition of new tires when purchased, and they are not affected by moisture and temperatures, and the use of items that conform to specifications, and to ensure suitability The tire used, its measurement, the bearing temperature, the appropriate payload, and the suitability of the tires for long trips when traveling by road.
She called for the necessity of checking the tires of vehicles, making sure of their safety, and the absence of any damage or cracks that could cause severe traffic accidents during the summer period, as a result of high air temperatures.
