“Friends, today is my last day at Naftogaz Ukrainy.” I came here in 2014, after the revolution of Dignity. And all these years, he has done everything to protect our dignity and defend our energy independence, ”Vitrenko wrote.

He noted that he was leaving considerable achievements at Naftogaz, including “money from Gazprom,” and wished the company and state leadership “sufficient competence and decency to use them for the benefit of Ukrainian citizens.”

In May 2020, Vitrenko announced that he had been notified of the job cut.

According to him, the dismissal is associated with a change in the priorities of the company, including in relations with Gazprom.
