Earlier, the LDPR announced that it had decided on possible candidates for the post of acting head of the Khabarovsk Territory if a decree on the resignation of the incumbent governor Sergei Furgal was signed.
July 9 Furgal was detained in Khabarovsk and taken to Moscow. A Basmanny court detained him for two months on charges of organizing the murders of businessmen in 2004-2005. He himself pleaded not guilty.
The defense appealed against Furgal's arrest.
