According to him, if the lawsuit is satisfied, his client will give money to charity.

In January, the court arrested Igor Lyakhovets, Denis Konovalov, Roman Feofanov, Akbar Sergaliev and Maxim Umetbaev, who took part in the detention. They are accused of abuse of authority, falsification of evidence and drug trafficking.

Konovalov later confessed and was placed under house arrest; the rest of the defendants were extended to remain in custody until the fall.

Golunov was detained on June 6, 2019 in the center of Moscow; in his backpack they found a bag of narcotic substances, which, he claimed, had been planted on him. Subsequently, all charges were dropped from him.
