On December 10, a week before the twins Erik and Allison's birthday, their mother Ruth Acosta and her three older children were deported to Peru. Everything indicated that they would need to be there between six and eleven months. But that time has not yet begun. The corona pandemic has closed the Peruvian authorities. The estimated processing time of six to eleven months thus begins when they can submit the application.

Dad left in Sweden

At home in Luthagen, the twins are with their father Johan Broström. He is not sure that Ruth Acosta and her three former children will come home even during the year.

Why did you not go down?

- There is no home down there, no work. It would not have been right for the twins, although it is clear that I want to be with the family in Peru as well. But then we would not have had anything to come back to. Got rejected instead, that we have no home to come back to, he says.
