Xinhua News Agency, Moscow, July 13 (Reporter Zhang Xiao) Russian President Vladimir Putin held a phone call with Turkish President Erdogan on the 13th. The two sides discussed the situation in Syria and Libya.

  According to the news released on the Kremlin website that day, Putin and Erdogan spoke highly of the efforts of the two defense ministries to stabilize the situation in Syria’s Idlib province and the northeast, and emphasized the importance of strengthening cooperation to solve the Syrian issue.

  On the issue of Libya, the two presidents reiterated that they must end the armed conflict in Libya as soon as possible and resume internal dialogue in Libya on the basis of the relevant decisions of the Berlin Summit on Libya and the resolutions of the UN Security Council. The two sides agreed to jointly strengthen political and diplomatic efforts on this matter.

  Putin and Erdogan also discussed the restoration of tourism between the two countries. Putin expressed gratitude to Turkey for helping Russia to fight the new crown epidemic. Erdogan congratulated Putin on the smooth referendum on constitutional amendments in Russia.

  On the same day, Putin also talked with Algerian President Teben and Tajikistan President Rahmon about bilateral relations.
