13 July 2020 A 40-year-old man suspected of administering numerous sites on the darknet, the hidden part of the internet, was arrested on 7 July in France, allowing "thousands of Internet users worldwide to have access to child pornography photos and videos".

The announcement was made in a note by the prosecutor of the Republic of Bordeaux, Frédérique Porterie. The man, a 40-year-old Frenchman, is "identified as one of the ten world priority objectives in the fight against child pornography".

It is a French citizen arrested on 7 July in the Gironde department near the city of Bordeaux. The arrest was carried out by the French police in collaboration with Europol.
