Elvis Presley's grandson Benjamin Keough died on Sunday at the age of 27, his mother's manager Lisa Marie Presley told AFP, confirming information from the TMZ news site.

The manager, Roger Widynowski, did not give any information on the causes of death. According to TMZ, the first information indicates that it is a suicide.

Contacted by AFP, the office of the sheriff of the county of Los Angeles, on which depends the city of Calabasas where Benjamin Keough was, did not follow up.

Her mother "is completely collapsed, inconsolable and devastated, but she is trying to hold on for her 11-year-old twins and her eldest daughter, Riley," the manager wrote in a statement to AFP.

"She adored this boy," he added. "It was the love of his life."

Fleeing the spotlight, Benjamin Keough, the only boy in the siblings, almost never appeared in public.

The few rare photos published of him testified to his resemblance to his grandfather, rock'n'roll legend who brought this style into household milions.

"Sometimes I'm stuck when I watch it," Lisa Marie Presley told CMT about her son's resemblance to Elvis.

According to the British daily newspaper Daily Mail, Benjamin Keough received an offer of $ 5 million in 2009 to record five albums.

But he had not published music since then.

His grandfather, Elvis Presley, himself died prematurely, at 42, in 1977.

The King of rock'n'roll has sold more than a billion records worldwide, including 146 million albums in the United States alone.
