The Shura Council of the Tunisian Renaissance Movement decided its position on the current government, which is led by Elias Al-Fakhfakh, by entrusting the movement’s leader, Rashid Ghannouchi, with negotiations with the President of the Republic and political and social forces to start consultations to form a new government.

The decision was taken by a majority of votes in the Shura Council, where 54 members agreed in favor of proceeding to form a new government, while 38 voted against it and the continuation of the current government, on the pretext of government stability.

On January 20, former President of the Republic, Qais Saeid, assigned the former Finance Minister and leader of the Democratic Bloc Party to form a new government, after Parliament refused to grant confidence to the government of Habib al-Jamali proposed by the Ennahda movement.

In a statement to the official news agency, Al-Nahdha movement spokesman Emad Al-Khumairi said that proceeding with a new government formation would end the current political crisis in the country, in light of the current political and economic conditions, and the conflict of interest file in which the prime minister is accused.

The decisive Shura Council decision to withdraw the rug from under the feet of the government of the traps, which mainly consists of the Renaissance parties, the democratic current and the People's Movement and long live Tunisia, came after a statement issued days ago from the movement's announcement through its executive office about "re-estimating its position on the government and its coalition", and referring the matter On its Shura Council as the highest structure in the movement.

In the same statement, Al-Nahdha (the largest party in the ruling coalition, which has 54 seats in parliament) stressed that the suspicion of conflicts of interests that haunt the prime minister has damaged the image of the coalition, which requires a reassessment of its position on the entire government.

The movement expressed its concern "about the state of disintegration in the government coalition and the lack of required solidarity", and condemned the attempt of its government partners to target it repeatedly and align with the forces of "political extremism" to pass "suspicious parliamentary options."

A difficult situation The leader of Al-Nahdha Muhammad Al-Qomani told Al-Jazeera Net that the decision of the Al-Nahda Shura to search for an alternative to the traps comes after her certainty that the position of the prime minister has become a burden on him and on the ruling, following the suspicions of corruption that haunt him in his relationship with the conflict of interests file, which was confirmed by the Anti-Corruption Commission.

He stressed that the traps lost its credibility and the confidence of the Tunisians in it to proceed with deep government reforms related to fighting corruption and managing incendiary economic and social files that require governmental and parliamentary solidarity that does not currently exist.

He pointed out that the decision of Al-Nahda Shura to end the position of traps was deliberate, when he called for consultations with the President of the Republic and the active political forces, without exception, to take the appropriate decisions, stressing that the purpose of this is not retaliation or to settle political scores as promoted by some.

And identical news talked about a meeting that brought together President Qais Saeed and Rashid Al-Ghannushi last night, during which they agreed that it was impossible to continue the traps in his post, given the suspicions of corruption that haunt him.

The Tunisian constitution gives more than one legal formula to end the government of traps. Either by submitting his resignation to the President of the Republic, which is the closest scenario according to observers, or by activating the President Chapter 99 of the Constitution and asking Parliament to vote on confidence to continue or not the government continues its activities.

Chapter 97 of the constitution allows parliamentary blocs to withdraw confidence from the prime minister by submitting a blame list to the speaker of parliament from a third of the members of the parliament, and to withdraw confidence, an absolute majority vote is required, i.e. 109 votes out of 217.

An accusation of maneuvering
The leader of "Long live Tunisia" Mustafa bin Hamad considered that the Renaissance movement continues its political maneuvers to demonstrate that it is the maker of the political scene in the country, and to achieve narrow partisan interests at the expense of the interest of the state and the people.

In his speech to Al-Jazeera Net, he stressed the continuation of his bloc in Parliament and 3 other blocs (the Democratic Bloc, the National Bloc and the Reform Bloc) in the procedures for withdrawing confidence from the Speaker of the Council, pointing out that this step is far from the outputs of the Renaissance Shura in its relationship with the fate of the Fakhfakh government.

Leader of the Democratic Movement, Ziad Ghanai, called on Al-Nahda to stop political tampering, the logic of blackmail, and the threat and move towards legal and constitutional mechanisms to bring down the government.

In his speech to Al-Jazeera Net, he pointed out that his party's position on the suspicions of corruption that haunt the Prime Minister, and which Al-Nahda took in reason to impose its conditions; It was clear by inviting the judicial and supervisory authorities to carry out their tasks, and resolving the issue legally.

And Prime Minister Elias Al-Fakhfakh previously announced his willingness to submit his resignation in the event that he is legally proven involved in the conflict of interests that haunts him.

He stressed that his party is in the process of studying what he described as "breaches" practiced by Parliament Speaker Rashid Ghannouchi in managing this legislative institution, and among their options is to proceed with signing a petition with other parliamentary blocs to withdraw confidence from him.

The logic of transcendence
and the political analyst at Salem’s government goes to say that Ghannouchi "shook his hand from the traps", pointing in his speech to Al-Jazeera Net that the leaked outputs of the meeting of the President of the Renaissance and the President of the Republic, and each of them agreed on the arrangement after the government of the traps; It represents a victory for the pro-Ghannouchi side of the Renaissance movement.

He added that "what the prime minister is blamed for dealing with the logic of condescension and arrogance with Al-Nahda, which was rejected by a large part of the movement, and considered it a marginalization of the movement's weight within the government and parliament, which accelerated the decision of the Renaissance Shura to search for a new government alternative."

Salem expected that the traps would go towards submitting his resignation, to remove himself from the embarrassment of himself and the President of the Republic, who gave him confidence and proposed him for this position on the basis of "integrity, competence and hand hygiene".
