According to previous reports, SpaceX plans to build a "star chain" network of about 12,000 satellites in space from 2019 to 2024 to provide high-speed Internet access services from space to the earth.

SpaceX plans to launch 720 "Star Chain" satellites into orbit through 12 batches of rocket launch missions. Each launch mission consists of 60 satellites, each weighing approximately 260 kg. After completing this phase of the task, the company hopes to provide "Star Chain" services to customers in the northern United States and Canada starting in late 2020, and will begin to cover the world in 2021.
