“In light of the glaring facts and circumstances surrounding his unjust persecution, arrest and trial, the president decided to commute the sentence,” the White House website said in a statement.

It is noted that mitigation will lead to the fact that Stone will be released. 

At the same time, his criminal record will not be removed.

On February 20, Roger Stone was sentenced to three years and four months in prison on charges of false testimony, as well as obstruction of justice and witnesses.
