His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, inaugurated the official operation of the path, finally, stressing that the implementation of the project, which began 47 months ago, is one of the vivid examples of Dubai's will, capacity and commitment to match the saying already. The Director General of the Authority’s Board of Directors, Matar Al Tayer, stressed the importance of the metro system in achieving the requirements for the future urban growth of the Emirate of Dubai, and that the metro is the backbone of the transportation system that links the various vital areas in the emirate.

He added that he was born out of an idea from His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, pointing out that he reflects the aspirations of His Highness and his conviction of the importance of providing a world-class infrastructure, in which the transportation network plays a pivotal role in advancing the development process.

The opening of the 2020 route was announced to the public in September, and the authority continues to conduct operational tests and experiments in the coming period through the operating company of the metro, where the trial operation is divided into four stages to ensure the efficiency of the new line system and its compliance with safety and security standards.

The first stage, called the static test, has been completed, during which a static cart of the train carriages is placed on the track, and then tests are carried out that include communication systems, automation systems, and electrical current.

The authority will continue to carry out tests by conducting a mobile test that is carried out without passengers, and includes examining engine and brake systems, automation systems and load tests, speed testing, as well as electromagnetic compatibility tests, and then experimental operational tests in which the efficiency of the performance of the entire system is proven, and to ensure The degree of stability of the operational systems, by operating the system continuously in a manner similar to operating in the normal mode.

Finally, the implementation of the operational tests by the operator of the trains that takes place before the start of the actual operation of the service, takes 14 days, and is also without passengers, during which all the different operational scenarios are confirmed.
