The incidence of allergic diseases continues to rise, but the public's awareness is relatively lagging
Symbiosis with " allergic ", the entire course of management is urgently needed

July 8 is World Allergy Day. In order to promote the whole society to pay attention to allergic diseases, a series of public welfare popular science activities of the Allergy Care Season 2020 will be launched in Beijing. Experts from the fields of otolaryngology, dermatology, pediatrics, respiratory and other allergic diseases jointly spoke at the launch meeting, calling on the whole society to pay attention to the management of the entire course of allergic diseases. From a multidisciplinary perspective, it is proposed that the public should correctly understand allergic diseases from prevention and treatment to symbiosis with Min. In-depth discussions were conducted on the nasal, systemic symptoms and hazards common to diseases in adults and children, and suggestions for comprehensive prevention and treatment, symptomatic treatment of appropriate drugs, and disease prevention were proposed.

In response to the problem that allergic rhinitis symptoms are often confused with cold symptoms and lead to delays in diagnosis and treatment, Professor Cheng Lei, director of the Department of Otolaryngology and Director of the Allergy Diagnosis and Treatment Center of Jiangsu Provincial People's Hospital, said, "The public's understanding of allergic rhinitis has limitations. Rhinitis popular science is conducive to early patient consultation, and is essential to promote correct diagnosis and timely treatment."

Because children are more likely to suffer from a variety of allergic diseases than adults, ignoring allergic problems often leads to uncontrolled multiple comorbidities, which seriously affects children’s learning and quality of life. National Children’s Medical Center, Pediatric Hospital Affiliated to Fudan University Professor Xu Zhengmin, director of the Department of Otolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery, specifically called: "Early treatment and standardized treatment are the main points for the treatment of allergic diseases in children." In terms of medication, Professor Xu Zhengmin also pointed out that nasal hormones are in the front line in the treatment of allergic rhinitis. The instructions or the doctor's prescription medication is safe and secure, and parents do not have to talk about hormone discoloration.

The incidence of allergic diseases continues to rise

Allergic diseases, also known as allergic diseases, are an abnormal body immune response triggered by substances that are originally harmless to the human body. Allergic diseases can occur in any part of the body, usually in the nose, skin, eyes, respiratory tract, and gastrointestinal tract, and can occur at all ages from newborns to children to adults. The overall prevalence of allergies in the world is as high as 22%, and one in five people suffer from allergic diseases.

In recent years, the incidence of allergic diseases in my country has continued to rise, but the public's awareness of the disease has lagged behind. Taking allergic rhinitis as an example, the prevalence rate reached 17.6%, mainly manifesting as stuffy nose, itchy nose, runny nose, sneezing, etc. Long-term and repeated symptoms, such as failure to prevent or intervene in time, may affect the patient's quality of life such as sleep, socialization, and work. Not only that, allergic rhinitis patients also have various comorbidities, such as asthma, chronic sinusitis, nasal polyps, etc., when severe, they may be combined with mental disorders such as depression, which seriously affects physical and mental health. From the epidemiological investigation and scientific research related to allergic diseases, allergic diseases have become one of the most common chronic diseases in my country. What is more worrying is that the population of infants, young children and adolescents has increased significantly worldwide. The sensitization rate of children to common allergens is as high as 40% to 50%. The genetic and environmental effects cannot be ignored.

  Allergy prevention is the key

Comprehensive management of allergic diseases requires a correct understanding of the occurrence and treatment of allergic diseases and the establishment of the concept that prevention is more important than cure. In China, the common allergens of allergic rhinitis are dust mites and pollen, such as wormwood, ragweed pollen and pine and cypress pollen.

For indoor allergens such as dust mites, patients need to avoid touching stuffed toys, carpets, tapestries and other items indoors, keep them ventilated, and keep bedding clothes dry. For outdoor allergens such as pollen, fungi and other inhalants, patients must wear masks when they go out in the season of high allergens, and try not to go to areas where allergens are spread widely.

In the treatment of allergic diseases, drugs for preventive diseases are also required. Patients with allergic rhinitis can take preventive medication under the guidance of a doctor under the condition of clear allergens to effectively prevent and control allergic symptoms.

Experts call: Allergic diseases urgently need to be managed throughout the course

Professor Sun Tieying, director of the Department of Internal Medicine of Beijing Hospital, Department of Respiratory Medicine and Critical Care Medicine, suggested that "allergic rhinitis in the upper airway and allergic asthma in the lower airway are often referred to as "the same airway" allergic diseases, and asthma is closely related to rhinitis .If you don’t pay attention to the upper airway, and allergic rhinitis cannot get standard treatment, rhinitis will become one of the factors that make it difficult to control the incidence of asthma."

"There are approximately 150 million patients with allergic skin diseases in China, including atopic dermatitis (eczema), urticaria, contact dermatitis, food allergies, drug allergies, etc. These allergic diseases not only have skin manifestations, but also often have The performance of the visceral system is a systemic disease. Patients need timely medical treatment, regular medical treatment, scientific prevention, and reasonable treatment in order to control and eliminate the pain, prevent the disease from aggravating and forming complications." Professor Zhang Jianzhong, director of the dermatology department of Peking University People's Hospital, said.

Professor Wang Chengshuo, deputy director of the Department of Otorhinolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery, Beijing Tongren Hospital, pointed out: "Patients should establish the concept of prevention before treatment. Once allergic symptoms occur, they should actively standardize treatment, identify and avoid contact with allergens; patients should pay attention to environmental hygiene and diligence. Clean ventilation, avoid contact with allergens, and rationally regulate medication, especially for seasonal allergic rhinitis. Preventive medication for two weeks in advance of the pollen season is of positive significance for controlling disease symptoms; at the same time, we should strengthen the scientific work of allergic diseases, for more Patients popularize standardized knowledge of diagnosis and treatment."
