The trial started on June 5 and now just over a month later the verdict is dropped.

Prosecutor Henrik Olin has pleaded for conditional judgment and should it become a convict such will Anna Lindstedt will probably get rid of her employment with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

"Nothing to prosecute"

Anna Lindstedt has denied the allegations and the defense has said that there is nothing to prosecute, and that Lindstedt acted within the framework of her role as ambassador.

- There has been no negotiation. Foreign power has not existed. The charge is unfounded, said Attorney Conny Cedermark during the defense's case.

Two versions

Several of the trial days were held behind closed doors as a result of foreign secrecy, as were parts of Anna Lindstedt's interrogation.

Opinions about the purpose and what actually happened on location in Stockholm during the discussed meeting on January 24-25 at Sheraton, are falling apart.

- This is a meeting of which there are two versions, Anna Lindstedt and Angela Guis. That is what I want the court to decide, Henrik Olin said in the final plea.

The case of Gui Minhai

Angela Gui called the meeting days "very abnormal and unreal" and says she was pressured to stop talking about her dad, the imprisoned book publisher Gui Minhai, in the media.

Instead, Anna Lindstedt says that it was Angela Gui herself who had mentioned that she can influence the media reporting in her father's case.
