The northern bridge section is 252 meters long and weighs 1790 tonnes and has since been shipped from Taliin where it was constructed legally and waiting in Södertälje.

"It is the largest and most complex part of the project, and as far as we know, this railway bridge is world-unique in that it has a total of eight pre-assembled train gears," says Kent Sahlman, project manager at the Swedish Transport Administration.

As the train traffic is now switched off, you work around the clock to complete the bridge so that it will be driven to the planned traffic stop on August 17.

- As it seems now, we are in phase, we are keeping the schedule, so it is good, says Kent Sahlman, project manager at the Swedish Transport Administration.

"The last puzzle piece"

The northern bridge part will be located at Norr Mälarstrand from Friday afternoon or evening. The plan is then to start sailing to Norrström on Sunday and then put the railway bridge in place during Wednesday and Thursday next week, so that cables and signals can be mounted and checked before train traffic starts again in August.

- The bridge over Norrström is the last big puzzle piece in the renovation of the Getingmidjan. They will keep for Swedish railways for several decades when they are in place, says Kent Sahlman, project manager at the Swedish Transport Administration.
