He said in this regard: «The United Arab Emirates has long taken a firm and clear stance on the Libyan crisis, as a political solution is the only viable option for resolving the conflict, and we continue to call for an immediate and comprehensive ceasefire and the resumption of a political dialogue led by Libya under the auspices of nations United ».
He added, “The ceasefire and political dialogue are the only way to end the militia’s control in Libya, to ensure lasting security and stability in it and to end the suffering of its people. He praised Egypt's role that was expressed in the "Cairo Initiative" to support the implementation of the results of the Berlin Conference and its right to defend its national security, as well as the efforts made by the United Nations Mission in Libya to ease the situation and engage in confidence-building measures between the Libyan parties, noting in At the same time, the important role that the European Union's IRINI process can play in fostering collective action by the signatories of the Berlin conference.
Gargash urged in his closing remarks the necessity of continuing the efforts of the Security Council in maintaining stability in Libya and moving forward with a comprehensive political solution to the conflict, stressing the urgent need to appoint a new special representative to reach stability and peace in Libya.
