A complaint filed by the prefecture

In each of these two cases, the animal welfare association One Voice alerted the authorities to the worrying situation of the lions. In a statement, the structure which militates for the prohibition of wild animals in the spectacles evokes the state in which the four lionesses were recovered on Tuesday. "Lameness, sores, muscle wasting, loss of posterior motor skills ... The lionesses present a body condition score of 2 out of 5, at best 2.5 out of 5", she relates.

Entrusted to the association, Hannah, Patty, Céleste and Marli will now find Jon, the lion previously recovered, in a refuge in Tonga Terre d'Accueil, in the Loire department. The Eure prefecture has also filed a complaint against the circus for mistreatment of its animals. This same establishment has already been in the sights of justice since 2018 for acts of cruelty, ill-treatment, placement in conditions that can cause suffering and irregular exploitation.
