An error caused an accident that resulted in the death of two people and the injury of five seriously, due to a bus stop in the middle of Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Road in Dubai, as a result of the explosion of one of its tires, and a waste truck collided with it from the back.

The Director of the Traffic Department in Dubai Police, Brigadier Saif Muheir Al Mazrouei told «Emirates Today»: “The accident occurred at four thirty in the morning yesterday, when a bus tire exploded while it was walking on Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Street in the Al Qusais jurisdiction, so the driver stopped in the middle of the road Without taking the necessary precautions, in the meantime, she presented a heavy vehicle (a waste truck) and crashed into it from behind, so that two people died in the truck, and five others were injured in the bus.

Al Mazrouei pointed out that the specialized patrols moved immediately to the place to secure traffic, and the injured were taken to the hospital to receive the necessary treatment.

He added that another accident occurred at dawn last Sunday in Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Street after the Hessah Bridge in the direction leading to Sharjah, when a vehicle stopped in the middle of the road because of a hole in its frame, and a motorcycle collided with it to deliver orders from behind, which led to the death of its driver.

It is reported that three workers were finally run over on Al Khail Street due to the similar behavior of a driver who stopped in the middle of the road and removed them from the bus.

Dangerous behaviors

The Director of the General Traffic Department, Brigadier Saif Mahir Al Mazroui, confirmed that one of the most dangerous behaviors that Dubai police have repeatedly warned is to stop suddenly in the middle of the road, and more dangerous than that, landing passengers without taking the necessary precautions.

He pointed out that "most of the accidents that resulted from parking in the middle of the road occurred previously on highways, and drivers from behind could not pay attention to parking in front of them."

He pointed to the necessity of contacting the police in the event of the vehicle malfunctioning and unable to move it, until the necessary measures are taken, such as securing the malfunctioning vehicles by police patrols, and taking the necessary measures to protect its passengers, stressing that Dubai Police respond within a record time to any report.
