It was at 13.32 that police and ambulance were alerted to central Gislaved. According to police officer Bo Gunnarsson, a man, born in the early 1980s, has received a great deal of violence against his body and head.

"Some form of attachment has been used, but I cannot go into detail exactly what it is about," he says.

Initially, the case was classified as serious abuse, but given the damage to the man, the crime classification was changed to attempted murder. Bo Gunnarsson does not know how badly injured the man is.

- He is now being cared for at Värnamo Hospital.

The arrested suspected offender was born in the late 1960s and neither he nor the victim should have been known by the police since before. The police do not know if the men knew each other and what caused the incident.

- We have technicians in place right now. We also hear several people who have witnessed this, says Bo Gunnarsson.
