Pakistan has been working hard with the United Nations Development Program (2018-2022) on many points, most notably gender equality and women's empowerment, in addition to stopping violence against women, as UNFPA works at all levels of society to support and empower women, including women The most marginalized and vulnerable girls.

But there are women in Pakistan and all parts of the world can resist societies to give a message to the rest of the girls that they are able to fight those battles, including girls who joined the Pakistani army, and the most prominent of them is the team Negar Gohar Khan.

Negar Khan's origins helped to fight that battle, as Jawhar descended from a military family par excellence; Her father, Colonel Qadeer, served in the ISI, and she is also the niece of Major General Muhammad Amir, a former officer in the Pakistani army.

It is noteworthy that her father and two sisters died in a car accident 30 years ago, leaving her two brothers younger than her age after that accident, as she was keen to follow them and care for them, and she also married a military man.

In 2017, he rose to the rank of major general, becoming one of the 3 female officers in the Pakistani army who reached that rank.

Female officers in the Pakistani army

"When I joined the army, the classroom contained 100 students, of whom only 10 were women, but if you go to the same college now, you will find 90% of women study military medicine and only 10% of men," said the team, Negar Gohar.

In a film produced by the ISI in the name of "Sisters in the Army" in honor of the role of women in the Pakistani army, several female officers appeared to talk about the suffering most of them experienced at the beginning, and how many in their societies had previously questioned their capabilities.

But over time, I managed to persevere in the positions and jobs that challenge men, without giving up their traditional or religious dress.

The film started with an introduction to the suffering of women before joining the army in the past, where one of them said that her father was not allowed to allow her or her sisters to sit in the front seat of the car, or use lipstick, and later joined the army to become a controlling doctor of the most brilliant Pakistani army surgeon. While another stated that she received all the support from her father, and therefore her mother supported her accordingly.

One of them advised the girls in Pakistan to say, "I am not the daughter of one of them or the wife of one of them, you have a name and this is very important."

Many female officers suffered discrimination in education in some societies. If the son was a boy, the parents were keen to educate him in good schools, and the families were not preoccupied in the past with the girls receiving a distinguished education, and they would suffice in schools near the house.

The film showcased their military capabilities alongside men, and in various specialties, where they fly planes, work in air and naval engineering, raise weapons, and train all the military training men take in, in addition to military medicine, all this and many of these officers wear the hijab.
