The second wave may no longer be hypothetical, at least on certain parts of the globe. Many countries in Europe, Asia and the Middle East have decided to reintroduce containment measures.

In Europe, six countries have taken the decision to reconfigure their populations. First of all Spain since Saturday morning. Whereas for only two weeks, the contagion of coronavirus was judged under control, a localized resurgence of the contaminations led the Catalan authorities to back off. An area around Lerida, in the northeast of the country, has been reconfigured with its 200,000 inhabitants.

In Portugal , the Lisbon region has also suffered a setback from the coronavirus, with a new "home confinement" since July 1 and until further notice. In Germany , two local reconfigurations of at least one week were announced on June 23, a measure that affects nearly 600,000 people. And finally, since June 22 and 29, Italy and Great Britain have reconfigured their population locally. The region of Leicester is concerned for the country of Brexit, and the Mondragone near Naples for the Italian peninsula.

Over 15 million people affected in India

Asia, the cradle of the coronavirus, has also plunged back into full pandemic. Wuhan was deconfigured in early April before the town hall reimposed confinement to 70 residential districts in mid-June. In India , the state of Tamil Nadu ordered the reconfiguration, from June 19 and until further notice, of the agglomeration of Chennai. This measure affects more than 15 million people.

On the other side of the Atlantic, the United States is  celebrating a high-risk national holiday on Saturday after registering a new record number of coronavirus infections the day before. The situation is not improving: several states have backed off after easing. California and Florida have announced the closure of bars and beaches, and the wearing of masks is now mandatory in Texas.

WHO calls to "wake up"

In the West Bank , the authorities have decided to temporarily close the cities of Nablus, Hebron and Bethlehem. And finally in Australia , thousands of Melbourne residents, living in several buildings, will have to stay confined to their homes for at least five days from Saturday.
