The Johns Hopkins University website reported that it had recorded more than 55,000 new infections during the past 24 hours, and thus would have recorded more than fifty thousand cases per day during three consecutive days.

The record-breaking comes more than two months after what was considered the peak of injuries, but it has risen sharply in the southern and western states.

For the first time since the virus appeared in China last December, Latin America yesterday surpassed Europe in the number of infections, recording 2.7 million cases.

The number of deaths in the virus increased in Brazil to more than 63 thousand, compared to more than 29 thousand in Mexico, which witnessed in the last 24 hours, 654 deaths were recorded, bringing the total number to more than 29 thousand, knowing that the total number of infected people exceeded 245 thousand.
