Nearly a hundred people have been diagnosed with the newly emerging Coronavirus in India after they participated in a few days in a marriage ceremony and funeral for a young man who was most likely infected with Covid-19 disease, a local medical official said Wednesday.

On June 15, more than 400 people in Bihar state (North) participated in a marriage ceremony for a 26-year-old young man who was suffering from symptoms similar to coronavirus and at his death after his death two days later.

"111 people were involved, either in marriage or at a funeral," said Raj Kishore Chowdhury, health sector official in Patna, the capital of Bihar state. "The identity of the other participants was identified and they were placed in isolation."

The authorities set up a special camp to examine the people who attended the two gatherings after a significant increase in injuries in the town concerned. An investigation was opened with the groom's family.

Doctors do not know if the latter was the source of transmission, as the family immediately set his body ablaze before being examined. None of his relatives or new wife has been infected with the virus.

This informatics engineer from Gargown, near New Delhi, had returned home just a week before his marriage and was suffering from fever and diarrhea, Chaudhry stressed.

He was hospitalized for a short time, but his family managed to bring him home after taking the drugs, and celebrated his marriage with 300 guests present.

The young groom died at his home two days after marriage. About 200 people attended his funeral.

Because of the Covid-19 pandemic still rampant in the country, India limits the number of people attending weddings to 50 people, and in attendance at 20.
