Train traffic to and from Malmö closed all day

There has been a stop in train traffic on the route since 03 am.

- It is a traffic signal that has hung down over the track and that you have driven on. There is no suspicion of a crime, but it is an accident, says Tommy Bengtsson, police officer in the South Region .

Eight passengers and three staff were on board, but no one was injured, according to Tommy Bengtsson.

The Swedish Transport Administration predicts that train traffic will return to normal only early on Friday. Sometimes replacement buses have been used for certain departures between Malmö and Lund.

- There will be traffic jams all day and we put in so many extra buses that just go, says Mikael Thomasson at the Skåne traffic press service.

Skånetrafiken will have information staff to help travelers.

- You simply have to wait if the buses are full and the one who has the ultimate responsibility for it is the bus drivers.

Will it work?

- The bus drivers have the task of making sure it doesn't get full, but I also think everyone has their own responsibility. If you see that the bus is full, you have to wait for the next one, says Mikael Thomasson, press officer at Skåne traffic.
