Cardinal Ambongo raised his voice during his homily on Tuesday on the occasion of the 60th anniversary of the Congo's independence. This senior figure in the Catholic Church called for the end of the ruling coalition. He spoke of a lack of love between Cach and the FCC, a problem of trust between the allies, impunity for the great and the poverty of the population.

They have developed  a dangerous relationship of rivalry that could lead the country into final chaos  ," said Fridolin Ambongo. The cardinal openly accuses the parliamentary majority of Joseph Kabila of showing a "  relentlessness to lay hands on the judiciary and the Ceni, two institutions on which the independence of the people depend  ". The homily ended with this call to the faithful: “  When the time comes, they will have to find us on their way . "

At the same time, several citizens' movements and the Lay Coordination Committee, which initiated the demonstrations of Christians in 2017 , are already calling for mobilization and promising a calendar of actions in the coming days.

These are additional pressures on the first Tshisekedi government, which does not have a year of power. But as certain members of civil society point out, this crisis between the two partners at the head of the country comes at a time when efforts are required to improve management and reduce the lifestyle of the institutions. All this to prevent the country from stopping payment.
