Five young men were sentenced Monday by the correctional court of Béziers (Hérault) to prison terms ranging from four to eight months in prison: they were tried for participating in the beating of two employees of a McDonald's restaurant in Agde, last June 23.

Tuesday evening, a group of vacationers, who did not wear masks, however mandatory, were refused entry to the establishment. They then attacked two employees who were trying to make them respect the health security rules.

Prohibition of stay in Hérault

"The medical examination of the two victims" had retained "for each a total incapacity for work at five days," said the prosecutor of Béziers, Raphaël Balland, Saturday.

The convictions of the five young men are accompanied by an obligation to work, to compensate the victims and to carry out a course of citizenship. They also no longer have the right to stay in Hérault.
