The Corona virus has returned strongly in several countries with increasing numbers of deaths and injuries amid warnings from a second wave. And while the World Health Organization has confirmed that the end of the epidemic is still far, the European Union has excluded the United States from reopening its borders.

The virus continues to spread widely, especially in South America, the United States and India, and has appeared to reappear in China after spreading to several areas in Beijing, prompting authorities to warn of the seriousness of the situation.

And Iran announced - today Tuesday - that it recorded within the past 24 hours about 2500 infections, including 147 deaths, the highest daily death rate since the emergence of the virus in the countries where the total infections exceeded 227 thousand, while the deaths nearly 11 thousand.

Despite this recorded increase, the Iranian Ministry of Health denied that the country was on a second wave.

Also in the region, Israel recorded a rise in the rate of infections, with 588 new cases of coronavirus being registered, raising the total number of infections to more than 24,000.

Indonesia also recorded the highest increase in deaths due to the virus by 71 cases, which raises the total to about 2,900 deaths, in addition to recording about 1,300 new infections.

The spread of infection

In the United States, which has counted 2.7 million injuries so far, including 129,000 deaths, and although the number of daily deaths decreased slightly in June compared to the previous month, the rate of infection increases in 30 out of 50 states, especially in the largest and most populous states ( California, Texas, and Florida).

In Canada, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau announced that his country was preparing for a second wave that could be hit hard. The province of Quebec records more than half of the country's injuries and deaths, amounting to 103 thousand injuries and 8,600 deaths.

In India, the frequency of infections and deaths has risen again with 18,000 new infections, including more than 400 deaths, at a time when fears are confirmed with the outbreak outside the main cities. India has become the fourth country in the world in terms of the number of injuries.

And in Latin America, the Corona virus is still spreading rapidly, especially in Brazil, which ranks second in the world in terms of the number of injuries and deaths, and has calculated 25 thousand new infections, bringing the total infections to 1.37 million, including more than 58 thousand deaths, and the epidemic continues to spread At a high rate in other countries in the region, such as Mexico.

In Europe, Britain yesterday imposed strict isolation measures on the city of Leicester after monitoring a new local outbreak of the Corona virus, as Prime Minister Boris Johnson seeks to restore life in the United Kingdom to normal.

The epidemic continues to spread in Russia at a high rate despite the decline in injuries and deaths, and the country has registered 6 thousand new infections in the past 24 hours, bringing the total to 647 thousand cases.

Far end

While several countries in the world have started to gradually lift the closures, warnings of a second wave of the Coruna epidemic are frequent over the next few months.

WHO Director-General Tedros Adhanom Gebresus said that the epidemic - which first appeared in China last December - was "far from over."

Gebrissos called on governments to check, track, isolate and quarantine the infected, to save lives from the virus.

In the absence of a confirmed vaccine against the Coronavirus despite the announcement by some countries such as China of some "promising" tests, the World Health Organization said that expectations at the global level are still bleak, and called for the expectation of the worst, especially in light of fears of the emergence of new viruses, after the discovery of a strain of influenza virus China pigs may turn into a global pandemic.

According to the latest statistics published by WorldMeter, the total number of injuries worldwide reached 10 million and 450 thousand injuries, including 509 thousand deaths.

These numbers only reflect part of the actual number of injuries, as many countries only conduct tests for the most serious cases, while other countries give priority to conducting tests to track contacts with the injured, in addition to that a number of poor countries have limited examination capabilities.

Europe's borders

Meanwhile, the European Union agreed today to open its borders and the Schengen area, starting tomorrow, Wednesday, exceptionally, for people from 15 countries, including: Tunisia, Algeria, Morocco, Canada and Australia. The decision also included China, but with conditions.

In return, those from the United States, Brazil and Russia will not be allowed to enter the European Union.

European citizens and holders of long stays in the Union are excluded from this list, in addition to groups such as diplomats and students. The list of countries in which the epidemiological situation is relatively safe to resume flights from will be updated every two weeks, and the nationality of arrivals is not seen, but rather to the country from which they arrive.

The list of countries whose citizens are allowed to come to the European Union and the Schengen area includes: China, Algeria, Australia, Canada, Georgia, Japan, Montenegro, Morocco, New Zealand, Rwanda, Serbia, South Korea, Thailand, Tunisia and Uruguay.

Arab countries

On the Arab level, several sectors today resumed their activities in Kuwait after the country's authorities adopted a plan to gradually return to normal life according to strict health conditions. Other Gulf states are witnessing a gradual lifting of the closing procedures, which include operating flights and partial opening of markets, mosques and others.

In Palestine, the rate of injuries continued to rise again, with the count of 255 new injuries, mostly in the Hebron Governorate.

Palestinian Prime Minister Muhammad Shtayyeh said yesterday that the Corona virus has returned again and at a greater pace, and called on citizens to adhere strictly to preventive measures, warning of severe penalties for violators.

Shtayyeh confirmed that "entire families were injured in Hebron, and there are villages affected by large numbers, and the government controls the epidemiological map."

Today, deaths were recorded in limited, but varying numbers in Oman, Kuwait, Libya, Bahrain, and the United Arab Emirates.
