“The only ally that remained with Russia is Belarus,” RIA Novosti quoted Lukashenko as saying.

He noted that he often talks about this to the Russian leader Vladimir Putin.

“And I often say this to Putin: I understand you, you cannot lose Belarus. I understand that you can’t fight either to save Belarus. Why? Because the process of squeezing Russia out of very marginal markets has begun: “A” - of the European Union, “B” - of Ukraine, ”Lukashenko said.

According to the Belarusian leader, Belarus is the second country after Germany in terms of gas purchases from Russia, as well as a major importer of oil.

Lukashenko noted that losing Belarus is “this is the strongest blow to Russia's domestic policy.”

Earlier, the Belarusian leader said that Minsk would never break relations with “fraternal Russia”, despite the intention to develop cooperation with other countries.
