Almost three weeks have passed since June 9, when the requirements for self-isolation and access control were canceled in Moscow. In the light of the gradual lifting of restrictions previously imposed due to the spread of COVID-19, it was suggested that this decision could adversely affect the epidemiological situation in the city.

However, a new surge in incidence did not occur, the mayor of the capital, Sergei Sobyanin, stated in an interview with Rossiya 1 TV channel: “Many even rubbed their hands, said:“ Look, you did everything prematurely, you didn’t have to do this. Now something terrible will be. ” Nothing terrible happened. ”

“All these peaks have passed. Situations passed when there was an extreme danger that we would again fly up (according to the number of cases. - RT ), ”Sobyanin said.

The mayor noted that over the past week, both the number of cases diagnosed with coronavirus infection and the number of hospitalized, seriously ill patients with mechanical ventilation devices have been decreasing.

Recall that on June 23 in Moscow the third stage of mitigation of restrictive measures began. Kindergartens, fitness clubs, travel agencies, social protection institutions returned to work. Cafes and restaurants, which since June 16 were allowed to open only summer verandas, were fully operational. However, recommendations for observing the glove-mask regime and social distance remain.

Speaking about the situation with kindergartens, Sobyanin drew attention to the complexity of the period of adaptation that followed the lifting of restrictions.

“These are special requirements for staff, teachers, educators, nannies - mask mode, gloves, it is a need to disinfect more often, to separate the flows of children so that they do not intersect, and a number of other requirements. It’s like an extra load, ”the mayor said.

The mayor also expressed hope that sports in the capital will quickly recover from the epidemic: “Sports facilities are rapidly returning to parks and squares. I think the youth movement, sports will quickly recover in the city. "

    Prospects for the Travel Industry

The Federal Tourism Agency expressed the opinion that the domestic tourism industry could recover by the spring of 2021. A number of measures will be proposed for this, said the head of the department, Zarina Doguzova.

“Tourism can recover earlier than by the end of 2021, namely by the spring of 2021. Moreover, we offer hoteliers and tour operators together with the regions to work out an extension of this holiday season until the end of October 2020, ”TASS quoted Doguzova as saying.

She added that tour operators will be able to offer Russians interesting places in Russia for recreation.

In addition, those Russians who planned a vacation in the first half of 2020, but abandoned their plans due to restrictions, will be able to implement their plan in the fall, they believe in the department.

Doguzova noted that the full-fledged summer season this year starts on July 1, and the restoration of the industry will begin with domestic tourism. It is expected that by the beginning of the second summer month 67 Russian regions will be ready to receive vacationers.

We add that in May, President Vladimir Putin called for speeding up the development of domestic tourism, since the timing of opening trips to foreign destinations has not yet been determined. In mid-June, the head of state returned to this issue and expressed the hope that the development of domestic tourism will help air carriers.

During a June 15 meeting to support the economy and the social sphere, Putin noted that some countries did not open and could not figure out who to let in and who not to let in.

“We will develop domestic tourism. We will try to do it effectively, so that the carrier feels it economically, ”the president said.
