• Terrorism: The PP demands the appearance of Grande-Marlaska in Congress to explain his policy on ETA prisoners
  • Prisoners: A delegation from EH Bildu visits 'Txapote', the murderer of Miguel Ángel Blanco, in the Huelva prison
  • ETA.Marlaska, on terrorism: "There were never two sides, there were murderers and victims"

The Congress of Deputies celebrates this Saturday the traditional annual tribute to victims of terrorism. This time, however, the most representative victims' associations will be absent from the act. Very critical of the Government, neither the Association of Victims of Terrorism (AVT) nor Covite nor Dignidad y Justicia will be present as a way of protesting the approach of ETA prisoners to the Basque Country and, above all, the agreements of the PSOE and the United We can with EH Bildu.

This fact by itself already justifies the absence of the victims. Recognition of the left - wing nationalism as a political force more with which you can reach either Navarra -and agreements or whether to extend the state of emergency in exchange for labor reform repeal, as did Pedro Sanchez is intolerable for ETA victims. For them, EH Bildu, a coalition led by Arnaldo Otegi, is the political heir to the terrorist organization.

In addition, they also do not accept willingly the prison policy with ETA prisoners promoted by the Interior Ministry of Fernando Grande-Marlaska and who, on the other hand, applaud from the Basque nationalist formations.

The associations consider that in many cases one of the main requirements to be able to enjoy prison benefits, which is collaboration with the Justice, is not fulfilled and remember that there are more than 300 ETA murders unsolved. Most of the prisoners have also not asked for forgiveness and, on the contrary, they despise the victims, as EH Bildu herself does.

In this way, the main associations will be absent from the act. Dignidad y Justicia has already done this on previous occasions, as has Covite, but in the case of the AVT it is the first time that it has stood out. As stated, it does so due to the "political role and recognition" that the Government gives "to the heirs of the political arm of ETA."

"They have crossed red lines"

This association always attended the event in Congress every June 27 "because most victims of terrorism are not paid any kind of tribute or recognition throughout the year and this is the only event in which they are remembered to all ”, despite the anger that was always generated by“ the presence of the heirs of the institutional arm of ETA in our institutions ”.

However, he considers that "this Government has crossed a series of red lines that prevent us from being able to attend this year."

The only political group that will not attend the event for these same reasons will also be Vox, which considers the presence of EH Bildu an outrage to the victims.
