According to the organization, the region registers daily nearly 20,000 new cases and more than 700 new deaths.

Prompt interventions are encouraged

Hans Kluge also praised the "rapid" reaction of countries like Poland, Germany, Spain and Israel to the outbreak of new cases in "schools, coal mines and food production circles" those last weeks. "When new clusters of cases emerged, they were brought under control by rapid and targeted interventions," he said.
