Westerlundska upper secondary school was built in the 1960s and 1970s. The premises are very worn today and there are, among other things, major problems with both heat and ventilation.

"In the glass roof parts, it gets way too hot in the summer and too cold in the winter," says Martina Ericson, one of the school's six program directors.

To renovate would be too expensive, says the municipality, which instead wants to build a brand new school. It will be a stone's throw closer to the center and only part of it will stand on the ground where the school is today. The rest will be in the area that today is a parking lot between the existing school and the so-called "Coop parking".

- It will be three floors. This means that the footprint of the building itself will be smaller, says Patrik Törnevik, responsible project manager at Enköping Municipality.

The public can say its

The process is right now in so-called consultation where the public can also submit comments until 31 July.

More than 180 pupils have also submitted their comments on the design of the new school in a survey.

- All this material has been accessed by our architects and landscape architects, says Martina Ericson.
