The National Institutes of Health has decided to discontinue clinical trials of hydroxychloroquine, an antimalarial drug for the treatment of corona19.

According to Reuters, NIH said hydroxychloroquine on the 20th of the local time is not harmful to corona19 patients, but does not appear to be beneficial.

NIH has been conducting clinical trials at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, Tennessee since April, and more than 470 people are said to have participated in the trial.

Hydroxychloroquine is a controversial treatment for malaria that US President Donald Trump praised as a remedy for Corona19, saying it was a'Gift of God' and'Game Changer' without clear ground in March.

The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) canceled its urgent use of hydroxychloroquine and chloroquine on the 15th, saying it poses a greater risk than potential benefits to Corona19 patients.

The World Health Organization (WHO) also recently ended clinical trials of hydroxychloroquine.
