The local authorities are worried that tourists will be harmed in their attempts to visit the place where the bus was previously parked, and have therefore moved on the bus with the help of a helicopter.

The bus, which was the real adventurer Christopher McCandless's last campsite before he died as a result of food poisoning and starvation, has been a popular place to visit since the book about him was released in 1992.

Safe place

In recent years, several people have been injured in their attempts to find the bus. By February, five Italian tourists were rescued from the wilderness.

The bus has now been moved and is in a safe place until its fate is decided, local authorities announce.
