Severe hailstorms hit Lyon - 20 Minutes

The Météo France site was not mistaken in announcing a thunderstorm vigilance for the Rhône Thursday from 4 p.m. For many motorists circulating in particular in the west of Lyon, the end of the afternoon had indeed the appearance of an apocalypse. Lightning, thunder, downpours and especially hail formed an explosive cocktail all around Lyon.

Several flooded roads therefore quickly became very dangerous, as above this A7 motorway exit at Ecully. No casualties are yet to be deplored, but police and firefighters had to intervene throughout the evening. According to Météo France, the next evenings promise to be quieter in the Rhône.
