Under the banner of the Lamuka coalition, the four main opposition leaders are calling for lessons from the past, as explained by former Prime Minister Adolphe Muzito, joined by Sonia Rolley from RFI's Africa service.

“  We are of the opinion that the cart was put before the horse. We demand reforms of the CENI. We ask for institutional reforms, which must be prior to the establishment of the animators of these institutions.

Things must not happen as if nothing had happened in 2018, 2011 and 2006. For this, we say that all the officials who were associated with the organization of the previous elections which were characterized by massive frauds, those who participated in these frauds, these irregularities, are automatically dismissed.

The objective for us is that the next elections be transparent, that we spare the country from the discredit that characterized the results, the massive frauds that everyone deplored and the electoral chaos that we experienced.

So the objective is to arrive at a Ceni whose texts, structures, make it possible to promote transparency, so that, next time, the will of the people is truly expressed and is respected  ” .

In the DRC, this choice of presidency of the CENI is vested in the churches recognized by the state. The two main religious denominations of the country, Catholic and Protestant, which oppose the appointment of Ronsard Malonda, the current executive secretary of the current CENI accused of fraud and corruption, announced a blockage on Wednesday.
