Since the emergence of the emerging Corona virus (Covid 19) in Wuhan, China, the UAE has been quick to announce its solidarity with the peoples of the world in facing the repercussions of the disease, and to provide various forms of support and assistance.
The UAE aid, which was transported by the national aircraft in coordination with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, constituted 80% of the total global aid that reached the regions in need, as the first defense lines benefited from everywhere in the world.
Over the past days, Mauritania has received aid aircraft containing 18 tons of medical supplies, including four tons of foodstuffs, benefiting about 14,000 health care workers. The UK has also received 6.6 tons of raw materials, to be able to produce millions of personal protective items. Cuba received about eight tons of medical supplies, benefiting some 8,000 health care workers. An aid plane carrying nine tons of medical supplies went to Dagestan, Russia, for the benefit of some 9,000 health-care workers. The aircraft also carried nine tons of medical supplies to Madagascar, for the benefit of approximately 9,000 health-care workers.
The UAE's assistance to the countries of the world included vital medical supplies, including gloves and surgical masks, as well as other personal protective equipment, disinfectants, solutions, and thousands of devices, testing units and examination equipment.
The UAE is constantly coordinating with international organizations to ensure complementary efforts to assist affected countries in tackling the emerging corona virus.
The UAE recently announced its donation to the World Health Organization of "Covid-19" virus testing kits worth $ 10 million, sufficient to examine 500,000 people.
The donation of the virus detection test kits comes in support of international efforts to contain its spread, in light of the lack of testing and testing requirements in many countries.
The organization praised the role the UAE plays in supporting global efforts to combat the virus.
