In Italy, the tourist season starts slowly after the confinement

As the summer holidays approach, the competition looks tough in Europe between tourist destinations in the sun. Especially after a spring marked by confinement. However, Italy, very affected by the pandemic, will have trouble recovering. Its tourist clientele consists of 30% foreigners and 70% Italians. Will they be on the beaches? The answer will be crucial, especially for small operators.

Sun, turquoise waters, natural parks and architectural treasures, the Apulia region has become a leading tourist destination. But with the confinement brought on by the pandemic, the first part of the season is lost.

Concretely, there is an extra meter between the parasols, and 60 cm between the rows. We didn't want to put up barriers because we didn't want the beach to look like a backyard enclosure. But the authorities are very careful here ...
