The actress and singer Vanessa Paradis will chair the jury of the 46th Deauville American Film Festival from September 4 to 13, we learned on Wednesday from the organizers.

By choosing Vanessa Paradis, "it is above all an atypical and daring artist that we wanted to honor", writes Bruno Barde, director of the festival, recalling the multiple artistic facets of the new president as well as "her journey as a responsible and committed woman "whose" talent "and" notoriety seduce all audiences including beyond our borders ".

"Since its creation in 1975, the Deauville American Film Festival has highlighted the diversity of American cinema, from major Hollywood productions to independent films" and presents "more than sixty films", underline the organizers.

During this 46th edition, a tribute will be paid to Kirk Douglas, who died last February, who had participated twice in this festival.

For this particular edition after the pandemic which has paralyzed many countries, the Deauville festival will present "event films" which were to be screened at the Cannes festival which could not be held this year, we learn on its website .

The 2019 edition of the Deauville festival was chaired by Catherine Deneuve.
