China News Service, June 8 (Xinhua) According to Pakistan’s SAMAA TV station, a six-story residential building in Lyari, Karachi, Pakistan collapsed on the evening of the 7th local time, killing at least two people and injuring 12 others. Currently, rescue activities are still in progress.

Rescue workers said they found the bodies of 2 women under the rubble, and 12 others were injured. It is believed that about 10 families live in this building. There were about 50 to 60 people in the building when it collapsed.

According to reports, 12 hours after the accident, rescue operations are still in progress. Due to the slow progress of the rescue work, the local people worry that the survivors and trapped people under the rubble may not be able to support for too long.

According to reports, the collapsed residential building has a history of 25 to 30 years. As early as 6 months ago, it has been listed as a "dangerous building" by the local authorities.

On March 18, the relevant department notified the residents in the residential building and asked them to evacuate within 15 days. A month and a half ago, the electricity and natural gas of this residential building were cut off, but the residents still did not leave and illegally connected to the circuit.
