A treasure valued at over a million dollars (about 890,000 euros) was recently discovered in the American Rocky Mountains where it had been hidden ten years ago. Forrest Fenn, an 89-year-old art and antiques collector, announced in 2010 that he had hidden a chest containing gold, rubies, emeralds and diamonds. He then launched a real treasure hunt, says CNN.
The man had only given as a clue a poem of 24 lines published in his autobiography released the same year. Since then, several hundred thousand adventurers have scoured the mountainous region in search of the precious stones left behind by Forrest Fenn. The indications of the latter finally allowed one of them to discover the treasure, revealed the collector on his website.

"The quest is over," wrote the octogenarian. I congratulate the thousands of people who participated and I hope they will continue to be motivated by the promise of more discoveries. ” Forrest Fenn said he did not know the winner of this treasure race over ten years old. Whoever ended up locating the precious box did not want his identity to be communicated.
"The poem in my book led him to the exact spot [located] under a starry canopy, in the lush vegetation of the Rocky Mountain forest," commented Forrest Fenn. The American had imagined this treasure hunt to make people want to explore nature and give hope to those who had suffered from the financial crisis.
