The Region of Sörmland began to build up a so-called secondary store in 2014 to handle extraordinary events and crises. The stores have a capacity for about two weeks of consumption.

However, the corona pandemic was not foreseen and in the traces of the virus outbreak, the stocks have started their own.

- In this now we have some things that can handle 14 days. Then we have other things that we don't have much of. We depend on getting deliveries, ”says Monica Johansson.

Upcoming decisions

On Tuesday, the regional board is expected to make a decision to assign the regional director a plan for how to build a contingency warehouse.

Exactly what it will look like remains to be seen. But Monica Johansson hopes that she will be able to build a warehouse that will last longer than two weeks.

Have you had poor readiness before?

- It's hard to know, it would have been no joy to have more of the wrong things. It is easy to say now that you have a hand in hand. This is what we need to look at, ”says Monica Johansson.
