(Fighting against New Coronary Pneumonia) Kazakhstan's Presidential Press Secretary confirmed New Coronary Pneumonia

China News Agency, Nur-Sultan, June 7 (Reporter Wen Longjie) According to Kazakhstan News Agency, Kazakhstan’s President’s Press Secretary Berek Wari said on the evening of the 6th that he was diagnosed with new coronary pneumonia.

On the evening of the 6th, Berrek said on his social media account that although he took various protective measures, he regretted that he was diagnosed with new coronary pneumonia and is currently being treated in the hospital. He also posted pictures of himself under inspection on social accounts.

Kazakh President Tokayev still continues to work according to the plan and is regularly tested. The Kazakh official stated that the health of the president has not been threatened, and the president’s residence has strengthened sanitation and anti-epidemic measures.

Since entering June, the number of newly diagnosed persons in Kazakhstan has declined every day. However, the Kazakh epidemic is still the most severe among the Central Asian countries where the epidemic has already occurred. Both the cumulative number of diagnoses and the number of deaths rank first.

According to Kazakhstan's Ministry of Health data, as early as 7th local time, the country had 183 newly diagnosed cases from the previous day, a total of 12,694 cases were diagnosed, a total of 7135 cases were cured, and a total of 53 deaths. In the three cities in Kazakhstan, all newly diagnosed cases occurred in the 14 states except North Kazakhstan. The cities with the largest increase included the capital Nur-Sultan (38 cases), the largest city Almaty (29 cases), and Karaganda State. (24 cases), Xiha Prefecture (21 cases).

The decline in newly diagnosed cases on the 6th has a certain relationship with Kazakhstan's change in statistical methods. The Kazakh news agency reported that since June 6, the Ministry of Health of Kazakhstan has adjusted the statistical method of confirmed cases of new coronary pneumonia in the country, and separately counted asymptomatic virus carriers as independent projects. Earlier, the newly confirmed cases reported daily by the Kazakh Ministry of Health through the official website include patients with clinical manifestations as well as asymptomatic virus carriers.

According to the Kazakh Ministry of Health data, Kazakhstan detected 357 cases of asymptomatic virus carriers on the 6th, involving all cities. Up to now, there are 1044 cases of asymptomatic virus carriers in Kazakhstan. In view of the fact that asymptomatic virus carriers are still infectious, Kazakhstan official said that in order to prevent the spread of the epidemic, it will continue to track and monitor asymptomatic virus carriers.
