The adventure of Mario Balotelli in Brescia, the club in the city where he grew up, is likely to come to an end, several Italian media reports on Saturday that the club sent the attacker a letter of dismissal due to repeated absences.

According to Sky Sport, the Gazzetta dello Sport and the agency Agi, the mail was sent Friday by the lawyers of the club.

Since the resumption of training in early May, first in individual sessions then in groups, Balotelli has been absent on several occasions, assure the Italian media.

This week, Balotelli explained on Instagram that he was sick and he reportedly sent the club medical certificates confirming it.

Friday in an interview with Corriere della Sera, Brescia coach Diego Lopez said he was "disappointed" with the attitude of his striker.

"Mario is training apart because his teammates have done a job that he has not done. The training (individual, editor's note) was optional, ok. But the group took a route and him another. On Zoom , during the quarantine, we did not see him. Even if he says that he feels good, he is not at the level of his teammates, "said the technician.

10 days ago, the president of the club Massimo Cellino had explained that the former striker of Inter Milan or Marseille had "no more spirit" in Brescia.

"I love him and I hoped that the air of his home and the desire to find the selection would do him good. We are all disappointed," he added.

Balotelli joined Brescia, the city club where he grew up with his adoptive parents last summer, just promoted to Serie A.

But in a club in sports difficulty (20th and last in the championship), it was not efficient, with five goals in 19 matches.
