A seven-year-old girl died on Friday in Vidauban, near Draguignan, in the Var. The child died after drowning in a private pool. The Var firefighters were alerted shortly before noon.
When they arrived there, the child was in cardiopulmonary arrest. The firefighters, accompanied by the carers of the SMUR of Draguignan, failed to save the child. They were forced to stop resuscitation attempts at around 1:30 p.m. The circumstances of the tragedy are not known.
