June 05, 2020 "The regional elections must be held by mid-September, so as to allow both a normal recovery of the school year and compliance with an important electoral deadline. Both events are deeply felt by the citizens, because it is about the future of both children and the government of their territories ". This was underlined in a letter addressed to the Prime Minister, Giuseppe Conte, and to the competent ministers, the president and vice-president of the Conference of the Regions, Stefano Bonaccini and Giovanni Toti.

“We are aware - Bonaccini and Toti highlight - of the absolute impracticability of postponing the opening of schools and the absolute need to allow a normal resumption of school activities. For too long now we have interrupted both the normal democratic course and the educational process of our children ”.

Bonaccini and Toti also referred to the resumption of the parliamentary debate on the bill converting decree-law no. 26 containing 'Urgent provisions regarding electoral consultations for the year 2020' and the position of the Regions, repeatedly represented to the Government, on the date of the next regional electoral consultations.
