• A brigade of 1,000 young people will monitor compliance with the rules on the Valencian beaches

If there is a celebration that marks the entrance in style in the summer it is the night of San Juan . In a normal context, next June 23 the main Valencian beaches would be filled with thousands of people - especially young people - in a party lit by hundreds of bonfires on the sand. The problem, that this year the scenario will be that of the new normality, for which the Valencian Government is already considering how to restrict the influx to beaches that night.

In fact, the Minister of Health, Ana Barceló, has already asked the municipalities to regulate access to the beaches on the night of San Juan, since there are many who maintain the idea of celebrating bonfires. "The Ministry of Health will issue recommendations so that no undesirable situation occurs," said Barceló.

The councilor, who has not hidden her concern about possible outbreaks of coronavirus if the agglomerations are not limited to the maximum , has trusted that the consistories will act "within their competences and exercising that responsibility." In any case, Health has already made it clear that access to Valencian beaches will have to be regulated on that special night because "it cannot be an uncontrolled situation", in the words of Barceló.

In the same vein, the Minister has defended the holding of sports competitions without an audience and behind closed doors . In addition, he stressed that the Ministry of Health must regulate it at the state level because "it cannot simply be an autonomous decision when the League is the responsibility of all of Spain." Barceló has emphasized that he totally agrees with the president of the Higher Sports Council, Irene Lozano, that "that decision has already been adopted, behind closed doors." "It is the most prudent right now."
