Meeting in videoconference on Friday, the interior ministers of the European Union agreed. We should be able to travel freely in Europe in the summer. Between June 15 and June 30, all restrictions should be lifted. It remains to make a decision on the external borders.

A minority of countries, however, want more time like Spain and a few countries in the East. Full return to normal will therefore be by June 30. This means that from July, holidays should be possible everywhere else in the Schengen area.

The question of external borders has still not been settled

Now we have to prepare for the reopening to the rest of the world. France has offered to wait until July 1 to allow third-country nationals to enter. The other countries agree. But there will be criteria. Do we proceed by country? By categories of travelers like students? Do we reopen for all but with forty?
